Carolyn Stephens is a South Georgia resident and has lived on the family farm land most of her life. She began drawing pencil sketches of her pets when  around six or so and was given an oil painting set in her early teens. She fell in love with the process and found in art that you could imagine almost anything.

Much of her inspiration comes from rural landscapes, woodlands, and wildlife, a self taught artist she has developed her own distinct style of painting.

Carolyn participates in local art events and gives private lessons in the basics in oil painting, also sponsors an annual art show for her students. She says the most enjoyment of teaching art is when  a student realizes their painting is "coming to life".

Occasionally as in  SONATA  she gives her mind and brush free rein and envisions beautiful and unusual musical relationships, inspired by the piano classics her Mother played.
